I am broadly interested in robot control and programming interfaces, studying human needs, and developing robot applications that meet them. My current research applies these ideas to the domain of care robots to assist older adults. Working with a local community partner, I am developing interfaces and interaction paradigms for integrating robots into care facilities to ease caregiver burden and increase resident independence. My work is a mix of qualitative field studies, lab user studies, and system development. I publish at HRI and HCI (CHI, DIS) venues.

Prior to graduate school, I earned my BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. During that time, I gained a variety of interdisciplinary experiences in manufacturing, bio-sensing, and software engineering, as well as international experiences living in Germany, England, and South Korea. Outside of academics, I love to travel, bake cookies, read, and snuggle with my cat. I am also a 5th degree blackbelt in Taekwondo, and have recently started boxing.
